The University of Stuttgart runs an own combined heat and power station on the campus Stuttgart-Vaihingen since 1959. It also supplies departments of the Max Planck Institute, the Frauenhofer Institute, the German Aerospace Center among others plus five halls with around 3000 flats for our students in addition to the educational and research facilities of the University. Supplying power and heat pertains to the responsibilities of the combined heat and power station, as well as the feeding of district cold in the form of cold water.
